We are deeply saddened by the passing of Aijaz Ahmad — Marxist scholar, political commentator, literary theorist. Aijaz was one of Tulika’s early authors, with the book titled Lineages of the Present: Political Essays, in our series of books of selected essays by eminent scholars in various disciplinary fields. He remained a friend and comrade who took great interest in Tulika’s publishing journey ever since. -

Professor Sahu authored Society and Culture in Post-Mauryan India c. 200 BC - AD 300, volume 7 in A People’s History of India series, and co-edited Negotiating India's Past: Essays in Memory of Partha Sarathi Gupta, both published by Tulika Books. -
