    A book launch of Notes for an Oratorio was organized on 13 April 2022 at Chimurenga (publisher, broadcaster and producer), Cape Town, South Africa. The speakers at the panel discussion, moderated by Sarah Mosoetsa (director, Humanities and Social Sciences), were Ari Sitas (the author of the book), Faisal Garba (sociologist and migrant/refugee activist) and Omar Badsha (artist).     We are deeply saddened by the passing of Aijaz Ahmad — Marxist scholar, political commentator, literary theorist. Aijaz was one of Tulika’s early authors, with the book titled Lineages of the Present: Political Essays, in our series of books of selected essays by eminent scholars in various disciplinary fields. He remained a friend and comrade who took great interest in Tulika’s publishing journey ever since.

    Bhairabi Prasad Sahu (1957–2022)

    We condole the passing of Bhairabi Prasad Sahu (1957–2022), Professor, Department of History, University of Delhi. Professor Sahu authored Society and Culture in Post-Mauryan India c. 200 BC - AD 300, volume 7 in A People’s History of India series, and co-edited Negotiating India's Past: Essays in Memory of Partha Sarathi Gupta, both published by Tulika Books.
