International Alliance of Independent Publishers launches Babelica

The International Alliance of Independent Publishers celebrates International Day of Bibliodiversity (21 September) with the launch of Babelica, a space for meetings and discussions, offering a programme of round- tables, debates and workshops in virtual format, to be followed live.

Babelica is also an online book fair; a place to discover international independent publishing. The Babelica Book Fair offers, among the thousands of books published by independent publishers from all over the world, a selection of more than 200 titles (literature, children's books, non-fiction, comics, etc.) from 37 countries, in Indonesian, Arabic, Portuguese, Basque, Spanish, Kinyarwanda, German, Creole, French, Italian, English, Malagasy, etc., to be discovered and purchased online!

The round-table discussions will be organised on 21 and 22 September 2022.

LAUNCH OF THE GUIDE TO GOOD PRACTICE FOR INDEPENDENT PUBLISHERS

Following the International Conference of Independent Publishers in Pamplona-Iruñea (November 2021) and reflections thereof, the Guide to Good Practice offers book professionals practical guidelines on book ecology, social publishing, solidarity publishing, feminist and LGBTQI+ publishing... and discusses alternative practices, sources of inspiration for the future of the book.
