Book release

Constitutional Concerns: Writings on Law and Life by Kaleeswaram Raj, published by Tulika Books, was launched on 6 August at an event organized by the Asian College of Journalism (ACJ), Chennai. The book was released by the chief guest, Justice J. Chelameswar (retired judge, Supreme Court of India), who handed a copy to N. Ram (Director, The Hindu Publishing Group).

This was followed by the Keynote Address, delivered by Justice Chelameswar. The author of the book, Kaleeswaram Raj, also addressed the gathering. The video recording is available here.

The book release and Keynote Address were followed by a colloquium on ‘The Constitution and Democracy’. The speakers at the colloquium were: Justice K. Chandru (retired judge, Madras High Court), Justice K. Kannan (retired judge, Punjab and Haryana High Court), Dr Anushka Singh (Assistant Professor, School of Law, Governance and Citizenship, Ambedkar University Delhi) and Kaleeswaram Raj (lawyer, Supreme Court of India). N. Ram and Sashi Kumar (Chairman, Asian College of Journalism) chaired the two sessions of the colloquium; Geeta Ramaseshan (lawyer and adjunct faculty, ACJ) and Vikas Pathak (faculty, ACJ) were discussants.
