Ira Bhaskar, who has edited, annotated and introduced this volume, is Professor of Cinema Studies at the School of Arts and Aesthetics, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. Her book Islamicate Cultures of Bombay Cinema (co-authored with Richard Allen) was published in 2009. She is currently working on a book Trauma and Memory in Indian Cinema.
